I started my I.T. career as a Support Technician in a government initiative aimed at encouraging people who had never used a computer before, to give it a go. I learned to teach and encourage my customers in how to use a computer. It was a challenging and very rewarding time and I still love teaching and guiding people through the daunting, but often fascinating world of computers.
Inititally I provided support over the telephone or at home. I then became a Sales Engineer, designing and troubleshooting computer networks for small to medium-sized businesses. This coincided with the broadband boom when the Internet became a fundamental requirement for both personal and business communication.
